About the Chicago Good Design Awards
Founded in Chicago in 1950 by Eero Saarinen and Charles and Ray Eames, Good Design Awards remains the oldest and the world’s most recognized program for design excellence worldwide. The Good Design exhibition program began as a sponsorship between The Merchandise Mart in Chicago and the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and continues today by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design.
This year, the Museum received a record number of submissions from the world’s leading manufacturers and industrial and graphic design firms. Entries came from over 55 countries, representing the best consumer designs for sustainability, superior design, and unparalleled function of everything from the ‘spoon to the city’.
