Software Information DDJ-SZ

DDJ-SZ works with other MIDI-compatible software besides Serato DJ Pro, by assigning MIDI message. Please refer to the list of MIDI message to find mapping values of all buttons and knobs. To assign MIDI message to all software function, please refer to your manufacturers' software manual.

When using this unit as a controller for operating MIDI-compatible software other than Serato DJ Pro, change the setting to use software other than Serato DJ Pro at the utility settings. For details, please refer to the "Using DJ software other than Serato DJ Pro" within the Operating Instructions.

Please do not run multiple DJ Software on your computer at the same time. When switching from one DJ software to use another, please turn the DDJ-SZ power off and then power back on after software switch has been completed.

PITCH PLAY MODE IS NOW SUPPORTED.

Pitch Play mode is available on Serato DJ Pro 1.9.6.
To use Pitch Play mode, you need the Pitch 'n Time DJ Expansion Pack sold separately.

We have identified that the issue below may occur when using the combination of Serato DJ Pro 1.7.0 and DDJ-SZ.

• Issue: Even though the Sampler mode button is pressed on DECK2 or 4, Sampler mode may not always start.
• Workaround: Press the ROLL or SLICER mode button, then press the Sampler mode button again to activate Sampler mode.
  The above issue was fixed in Serato DJ Pro 1.7.1.

Serato DJ Pro Software Download

A function to load tracks from the Files panel of Serato DJ Pro is added. (SeratoDJ) (December 15, 2014 Updated)
When a track is selected in the Files panel of Serato DJ Pro, you can load the track by pressing a combination of buttons on DDJ-SZ. If you update both Serato DJ Pro to ver 1.7.2 and later and the DDJ-SZ firmware to Ver 1.20 and later, the above function will be enabled. You can download the latest version of Serato DJ Pro from the Serato website.

Improvement of the jog platter latency for scrathing (May 20, 2014)
The jog platter latency for scratching is improved in Serato DJ Pro Ver 1.6.3 and later. You need to update the firmware of DDJ-SZ to Ver 1.15 and later as well as Serato DJ Pro software in order to make the latency improvement effective.

When you first launch Serato DJ Pro, a [BUY/ACTIVATE] icon may be displayed in the Online panel. Those who use DDJ-SZ do not have to activate the unit or buy the license. If you connect DDJ-SZ to Serato DJ Pro, you can use the software without buying the license or activating the unit.

• Operation is not guaranteed on all computers, even if all the required operating environment conditions indicated here are fulfilled.
• Depending on the computer’s power-saving settings, etc., the CPU and hard disk may not provide sufficient processing capabilities. DDJ-SZ supports the DJ Software TRAKTOR PRO 2 from Native Instruments. The Setting File is required to be imported and TRAKTOR PRO 2 should be updated to Ver.2.6.8 when TRAKTOR PRO2 is used with DDJ-SZ. Also, the firmware of DDJ-SZ itself is required to be updated to ver. 1.18 or later.

Your computer might not work as expected when multiple versions of Virtual DJ application are installed. Ensure that you install a version of Virtual DJ application you need only after uninstalling all the already installed versions of Virtual DJ.
